Wine Grape: Greco

Greco is a white wine grape, probably arriving with Greek colonists between 700 and 800 BC. It's mostly grown in southern and central Italy, most importantly in Campania's Greco di Tufo DOCG.

Of the many versions of Greco vines, the most important are divided into two groups. In central Italy (Marche and Umbria) the most grown versions are Maceratino, Grechetto di Todi and Grechetto di Orvieto. In the southern regions of Campania and Calabria the varieties are Greco di Tufo and Greco Bianco.
